About Us
The MBA Challenge for Charity is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that draws on the talents, energy, and resources of MBA students from nine West Coast business schools to support Special Olympics and other family-related local charities, to develop business leaders with a lifelong commitment to community involvement and social responsibility.
Our History
C4C was founded in 1984 by Duncan O'Brien, a Stanford MBA student. That inaugural year, over 200 participants from UC Berkeley and Stanford business schools met on the fields of the GSB in the first C4C Weekend and donated over $3,000 to local Special Olympics chapters.
Since then, C4C has grown into a consortium of nine West Coast business schools. Today C4C includes Pepperdine, Stanford, UCLA, UC Berkeley, UC Irvine, USC, UC Davis, University of San Francisco, and the University of Washington.
Since 1996, C4C has contributed over $4.6 million for Special Olympics and other local charities, as well as donated tens of thousands of hours of community service. C4C remains the World’s Largest MBA Non-Profit Organization.
C4C at Haas
Volunteering events include landscaping and restoration work at APC during 1st year Orientation, bowling and basketball clinics with Special Olympics, ongoing tutoring with Reading Partners, and more! Fundraising events include Haas-loween, No Shave November and the annual C4C Charity Auction.
The year's work culminates and is celebrated at the C4C Sports Weekend in April. Last year, Haas fared well, taking 1st place in soccer and trivia, and finishing 3rd overall.
